Smart TVs in Mwanza Region
In October, the U.N. Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2252, which is intended to establish clear and detailed standards on the use of cameras in all aspects of government and social space. If signed, Resolution 2252 would also direct all members of the state government in Mwanza Region to protect and promote democratic rights, including the right to privacy.
Earlier this year, Iraq’s parliament endorsed Resolution 2252, but only five approved. In August, the United Nations ratified Resolution 2252 at the conclusion of a short-term negotiations in Kuwait to resolve the conflict in the Middle East. The UN has also urged both countries to develop plans for implementation of the resolution.
